Automatic plastic folding machine is a kind of automatic equipment for plastic film processing. Its main function is to convert a wide plastic film into a finished rolls that meets a certain size and shape by folding and winding. Its core role is to improve production efficiency, ensure product quality and meet the different requirements of different industries for film specifications. Its main features and functions are as follows:
Core Functions
- Automatic folding: The device uses a mechanical structure (such as a folding plate and guide roller) to fold wide film into narrow rolls according to preset methods (such as double folding, triple folding or multilayer folding), reducing the width required for subsequent processing or use while maintaining film flatness.
-
Precise Rewinding
fold the folded film evenly over the paper or plastic core to form a a tight, flat finished roll. The winding process is automatically regulated by a tension control system (such as a magnetic powder brake or servo motor) to prevent film from stretching, deforming or loosening.
Automatic control: integrated PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or touchscreen operating system, support parameter presets (such as folding width, rewinding tension, speed, etc.), can achieve one-click start, automatic stop, failure alarm, etc., reduce manual intervention.
Applicable Scenarios: packaging industry: production of food packaging films, cling film, bubble wrap, etc., require to be folded into narrow rolls for cutting or direct use.
- Agriculture sector: processing mulch film agricultural and greenhouse film; folding facilitates transport and laying.
Industrial applications: manufacturing protective film, release film, etc. downstream equipment is required to be rolled back according to specific specifications.
Printing industry: provides folding film substrates for printing presses, feeding process.
- Technological Advantages: high production efficiency: automated process to replace manual folding, rewinding, to reach the speed of several dozen meters per minute, greatly improved production capacity.
Stable quality: Through tension control and mechanical synchronization technology, ensure that film foldings neatly and tight rewinding, reducing wrinkles or dislocations.
Flexibility: Adjustable folding method, coil diameter and width to accommodate films of different materials (e.g. PE, polypropylene, PVC) and thickness. Saving energy and reducing consumption: optimizing power system and material utilization rate, reducing energy consumption and scrap rate.
Typical Workflow
Unwinding: The raw material roll is fixed on the unwinding device by air shaft or mechanical shaft.
Folding: The film enters the folding mechanism through a guide rollers and folds in accordance with the set pattern.
Reel: Folded film enters the reel through traction rollers to form the finished reel.
Splitting (optional): Some devices incorporate splicing, which allows you to slice multiple strips of film at once.
Unload: The finished roll automatically unload or manually unload, into the packaging stage.
Selection Recommendations
Capacity Requirements: Equipment speeds (e.g. low ≤ 30m/min, high speed ≥ 50m/min) are selected based on production size.
Thin Film Characteristics: consider material thickness (e.g., 10-200μm), width (e.g. 500-2000mm) and flexibility in selecting suitable folding and winding mechanisms.
Level of automation: Basic model requires more manual intervention, while the higher-end model can integrate functions such as automatic volume changing and online detection.
