Pearl Foam (EPE) is a honeycomb structure of numerous individual, enclosed bubbles formed by a physical foaming process of low density polyethylene (LDPE). Chemical foaming agents are not used in production. Instead, bubbles are formed by heating the air at high temperatures, which causes it to expand and then cool down to form bubbles. Bubble wrap, on the other hand, is mainly made of high-pressure polyethylene (HDPE), supplemented by additives such as whiteners and antibacterial agents. It is extruded at 230°C. It consists of two thin films, the middle of which is formed by a vacuum, forming a continuous bubble. Bubble diameter and height can be customized.

For example, it offers superior impact resistance to traditional foam and even perforation to maintain shockproof performance. It is also recyclable and environmentally friendly. Bubble wrap is characterized by lightweight, transparent and elastic. Its continuous bubble layer has shock absorption and impact resistance, but it is easy to deform under local pressure. bubble wrap can also be enhanced by adding antistatic and flame retardant additives.
